Out-of-Uniform
Days
Several times during the year students are allowed the
privilege of wearing clothes other than their uniforms to school.
Formal
Out-of-Uniform Days: Students should wear dresses,
skirts of an appropriate length or dress pants. Jeans may not
be worn.
Casual
Out of Uniform Days: Students may wear casual clothes
such as shorts of an appropriate length and jeans.
NOTE: The
following items may never be worn to school: cut-offs, pajama
pants, torn clothing, slippers, slip dresses, halter tops, tube
tops and boxer shorts.
Respect
for one’s self and others is also shown through cleanliness
and neatness in personal appearance. All students are expected
to follow the uniform regulations. Failure to do so results in
marks toward detention. In addition, repeated wearing of non-uniform
clothing as listed above will initiate parent contact from the
Director of Students 7-8 or the Assistant Principal stating which
uniform pieces need to be replaced within a given time period.
As a last recourse, the school reserves the right to purchase
appropriately fitting pieces of the uniform and bill the student’s
family for them.
Tattoos,
excessive body piercing (e.g. ears, eyebrows, nose, lip, tongue,
navel) and alternative hair dyeing and styles are not allowed.
Any adult within the school community may address a student’s
appearance if it is considered inappropriate, disruptive or distracting
within the school environment. The information will be communicated
to the appropriate administrator.
