Villa College Connection
WHY WE ARE HERE:
Education is a process, not a product.
As tidy as it might seem, we cannot purchase higher education
in the same way we might choose
a toaster or a set of tires. Nor does the staff of the Villa
college counseling office believe that any magazine's ranking list
will
substitute for the time and reflection necessary to determine
where your daughter will be most happy and productive in college.
Though
they are undoubtedly fine people, the editors of US News and
World Report have never met your child and know nothing about her.
Why
let them tell you where she should go to college?
Instead of relying on lists and hearsay, work with us. We understand
that every family comes to this process with different expectations
and experience; we welcome the opportunity to work with students
who have wonderfully diverse strengths and talents. You undoubtedly
brought your daughter to Villa because you wanted the school to
meet her unique needs as a young scholar. In a college search,
start with the child-- what truly is best for her. The name of
the college will take care of itself.
Certainly, the application process can be stressful. Put the uncertainty
to work for you: gather the information that will help you and
your daughter make an informed decision. And if it becomes the
least bit overwhelming or confusing, please call or come to see
us. Finding the right college shouldn't become a full-time job
for you; that's why we're here.
It is a privilege to work with you and your children. Let us know
how we can be most helpful.
