Villa Duchesne freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are among the first in the country to use Tablet PCs in each one of their classes. This impressive tool serves both as a notebook and as a PC. Depending on their learning styles, students can use a special pen to take handwritten notes, which can be converted to text; draw pictures and diagrams directly onto the screen; use the built-in microphone to record lectures; or use the keyboard to type notes. Students keep files, folders, and various assignments organized and use School e-mail to communicate with teachers and fellow classmates. And, they can access the web for research or homework while walking down the hallway or sitting under a tree. It’s changing the way students learn and teachers teach, infusing technology seamlessly into the curriculum!
