Curriculum Profile

Villa students get a jump on earning college credit through Advanced Placement, Honors and/or 1-8-1-8 Honors Courses. AP courses are offered in Biology, Calculus, American Literature, European History, U.S. History, Spanish and French. Honors courses include French, Spanish, British Literature, Physics and Math Analysis. Courses carrying college credit from Saint Louis University are offered through the 1-8-1-8 program in American Literature, U.S. History and Spanish.

In the Class of 2004 (83 students), 68 seniors (82%) took at least one AP course from eight subject areas.

Course of Study

Seventh: English, art, music, computing, foreign language (French or Spanish), math (math 7 or pre-Algebra), health/physical education, science, world geography, religion

Eighth: English, art, music, computing, foreign language (French or Spanish), math (pre-Algebra or Algebra), health/physical education, science, American civics, religion

Ninth: English, fine arts, foreign language (French or Spanish), math, physical education, physics, technology, theology, and Western civilization

Tenth: World literature, math, physical education, theology; three or four of: fine arts, foreign language, social studies, science and technology

Eleventh: British literature, theology; five or six of: fine arts, foreign language, math, physical education, social studies, science and technology

Twelfth: American literature, theology; five to seven of: fine arts, foreign language, math, physical education, social studies, science, and technology
