Oak Hill Library Resource Center
Oak Hill is proud of its library resource
program. A full-time certified librarian and an assistant staff the
facility. Parent
volunteers provide processing support and individual help to students.
The print collection exceeds National Library Standards for elementary
school libraries. Students, kindergarten through sixth grade, use
the library resource center for book selection and research. Classes
are scheduled to visit the resource center at least once a week.
Teachers arrange special sessions when long-term research reports
are assigned. Besides print materials the LRC has an internet connection
which is available for student use. Students are exposed to a sequential
library curriculum which addresses library usage, information retrieval
skills, and literature appreciation. Fifth and sixth grade students
may also use the upper school library.
